Livonia Warriors meets SAKURA Tempesta

ATC-A is a proud sponsor of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team Livonia Warriors, a team comprised of three local high school students.

FRC combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology, challenging teams of students 10 or more to design and build a robot in performing prescribed tasks against a field of competitions.

On April 24th, ATC-A and Livonia Warriors team welcomed SAKURA Tempesta team at Detroit airport for their FIRST Robotics Championship completion in Detroit.

SAKURA Tempesta is a Japanese FRC team consisted of middle school and high school students in Chiba, Japan. While 2018 being their first year of competition, they received the Rookie All Star Award, FIRST Dean’s List Finalist Award, and Highest Rookie Seed during the Hawaii Regional in March, earning them a ticket to compete in the Carson Division (aka World Cup) in Detroit, Michigan.

While at ATC-A, SAKURA Tempesta took a tour of our facilities including our evaluation lab in together with members of Livonia Warriors team. We also had a welcome dinner where each teams introduced themselves in making further connections between the team.

By the end of their 4 day long competition in Cobo Center and Ford Field, over 40,000 people, including 15,000 students ages 6-18, putt their innovation skills to the test at the annual championship.
